The Lady Blue Jays golfers traveled to Wichita Monday to take part in a 6A Regional tournament at Tex Consolver Golf Course.

Weather was a factor Monday as the tournament was stopped after nine holes.

Junior Nicole Strande finished in 23rd place with a 64, which was 23 shots behind the leader. Strande opened on the par-five 10th hole, finishing three over par. She rebounded two holes later on the 12th hole, dropping a bogey putt on the 139-yard par-three. Unfortunately, the 490-yard, par-five 13th hole proved difficult. With several pot bunkers to contend with, along with the weather, Strande finished the hole with a 13. Strande finished the remainder of the holes with two more double-bogeys to finish with a 64.

Freshman Jordan Seelye was introduced to the pressures of regional golf as she opened the tournament on the 10th hole as well, and finished with a par-5, which was six over par. She was able to adjust as she sank a putt for double-bogey on the 11th green before dropping a par putt on the 139-yard, par-three 12th holeSeelye struggled to find her rhythm as she finished with a 78.

The tournament closed out the season for the Lady Blue Jays as neither golfer qualified for the Class 6A State Tournament, which will be held Oct. 15 in Salina.
